Clipboard history not recording

StackPaste records text, links, images, files, and colors in the background. Make sure StackPaste is running (check for its icon in the menu bar) and that it is allowed to run in the background on your Mac.

How Stacks and sequential paste work

Group related clips into a Stack, copy several items at once, then paste them one after another in order — without switching back and forth between apps.

Finding clips faster

Use quick filters, the keyboard-first workflow, and custom shortcuts to locate and paste what you need. Shortcuts can be redefined if they conflict with another app.

Where your data lives

Your clipboard data stays private on your Mac and is only synced through your own personal iCloud account. We do not operate a server that stores your clips.

Helpful details to include in a report

  • Your macOS version and machine architecture, such as Apple Silicon or Intel.
  • The StackPaste version and build number.
  • The workflow you were using, such as history search, Stacks, or sequential paste.
  • Whether iCloud sync is enabled, and whether the issue happens on more than one Mac.
  • Steps to reproduce, ideally with a screenshot or screen recording.
